We have also discovered an idea about our second set and if we actually need it. For the completion of our test shoot we are going to begin with just shooting the band in the basement and the handheld camera movements and angles which will portray the band members hanging out and this will further incorporate the VHS affect. Then we will look at if the second set is necessary and if we need it. If we were to keep this set we would lay it out as when the band members are performing in front of the Tv's, the images which we will be portrayed on these Tv's would be from the VHS effect and those 'behind the scene' clips.
We have come to a clear vision of how we want our narrative to play out in the introduction of our music video. We want our lead singer to walk into the basement holding a handheld camera and videoing the band members as they are performing, before the lead singer begins to sing. The lead singer will walk around to the band members individually and film them and mess around with them. For example place the camera down to the foot peddle of the drummer and get shots of him performing from this angle. He will then place the camera down and get into his position and get ready to start singing (13 seconds in).
Instead of this being a different element to the main performance, the VHS camera will emerge throughout the main performance and the cameras will constantly switch between the modern camera and VHS camera and we will keep the VHS camera recording so that when it comes to editing we can easily edit to the other shots from the other camera as the actions will be in sync.
