This is a more recent screenshot of our social media campaign for twitter and instagram. Portraying our album release, tour and tickets release, more behind the scene elements, and merchandise release. We are keeping our audience engaged and interacting with our audience in order to keep them interested in the band and to further create a wider audience.

Post production/Making of social media: 9

Wendy created digital merchandise for our band which is signed with the bands logo. She created bags, jumpers, t-shirts, and CD disks and the cover. Millie and I then uploaded these to both our social media campaigns on twitter and instagram. We came up with captions which we could add under these posts to make them seem more professional and to help market the merchandise. We are going to evenly distribute these images on our social media pages.

We decided to announce a tour release and then tickets release. Wendy created these images in order for us to promote the tour locations and dates. We wanted to upload these images after the release of our album so that our audience are more eager to go see them live and attend the locations. We also wanted to stager the timings when we upload the ticket release after the tour release, which will help build excitement and attention. By doing this it also provides our audience with an insight as to what they will expect.

These are screenshots of the posts which I have drafted on our instagram social media campaign which are advertising our merchandise, tour release and ticket release. We have drafted these instead of posting them for the time being as we are following our timeline and we have an order in which we are uploading content.

Post production/Making of social media: 8

From our feedback which we received from our group we then incorporated our new ideas into our posts. We uploaded posts which further portray more behind the scene footage, footage of band members not rehearsing or filming, and enjoyable content for our audience.  We decided to delete the previous countdown posts from '48 hours' and then 'tomorrow', and upload more content of the band members before the countdown began. We wanted to create more countdowns for the release of the music video on our twitter and instagram page in order to further increase the build up and excitement for our audience.

I made another timeline for our instagram page which allows us to know exactly what order we are uploading in and what content we are uploading, in order for our social media campaign to flow and make sense to our viewers and audience.

For our twitter page we decided to follow a similar order and similar timeline so it coincides with our instagram page. As twitter is very different to instagram in relation to their posts and how you see posts it meant that some content which we are posting on instagram will not be posted on twitter. This is why we have informed our twitter followers to make sure they are following our instagram page.

Group campaign feedback: 2

As a group we all met and gave each other feedback for our progressing music campaign. Amanda showed us the music video so far which she has edited, Wendy showed us our final digipak and album artwork/cover, and Millie and I showed our group our progressing social media campaigns for twitter and instagram. We discussed what needs to be added, what needs changing, what works, and do the campaign elements work together.

The feedback which Millie and I received for the Twitter social media page was that it works really well and the way we have retweeted other bands posts shows out support to other bands, and shows us as a band interacting with the music world and to our audience. They further mentioned how the captions and the colours work really well together within our main music campaign and follow our genre and colour scheme. They stated that we just need to keep posting more and keep our audience engaged and interested.

The feedback which we received for our Instagram social media page was that our page definitely portrays our ideologies within our band and tells our audience more about them as a group. They further said that we need to keep posting more and posting key images which allow us to interact with our audience, either Q&A's, live videos, or videos directed at our audience. They also mentioned that we need to include a few more posts which build up the music video and countdown, which will allow our audience to get excited and engage them with the process of the release.

Wendy, Millie and I all gave Amanda feedback on the so far almost completed music video. We mentioned how since last time we watched it as a group a lot has changed for the best and it is coming together even stronger. There was one element in the video which we discussed which we thought could be adapted, this was an element in the non lip sync section when George A was sleeping and this shot went from a wide shot, close up, to another wide shot, and then action and we thought the action went on for too long and seemed almost staged. We stated that it would work better if it went close up, wide shot, then action.

Overall all of our products are working really well together as a whole music campaign and they all have a clear and visible link to one another and it is easy to identify the main conceptual source of this campaign and idea behind it, and this is the key factor and main aim.

Post production/Making of social media: 7

In order to carry on progressing in the creating of our social media campaign on twitter and instagram. We decided that some of our content created needs to be published to the audiences. We decided to announce our album and music video release date as this builds awareness and demand for the product (marketing). We created a countdown for the release. In a real world scenario this would allow the band and the record label to get an idea of the interest and engagement for their product upon release.

We further uploaded behind the scene shots from our music video. We selected 5 images and grouped them into one post. This provides our audience with an a more personal sense of the band and their personalities. Furthermore, the audience feel as though they are involved with the band and the process of their creations. This helps to build the star image and the audience as they feel connected and thus develop a further interest as they have already invested the time to look through their social media and therefore will be more inclined to stay tuned in the future.

As a band we wanted to show our audience our acknowledgment and support to the LGBTQ+ community. In order to do this we edited our band logo and changed it to the colours of the pride flag and we then added a heart. We then uploaded this logo to both our twitter and instagram page.

Post production/Making of social media: 6

I edited a short teaser video for our music video which we will be uploading on instagram and twitter. This clip is from our music video and comes at the end of the video. By releasing this short teaser we are engaging our audience and keeping them aware that our music video is coming soon, we further included a release date for our song and told our audience to 'pre save now' this builds excitement for our audience and advertises the band.

I edited this short teaser on iMovie. I converted the song 'Where is my Head' from youtube to MP3 and then dragged the audio into iMovie and separated the visuals to the audio so only the audio was included and I then placed my chosen clips over this audio. I further cut the clips to make them have rapid changes and so that in the music video they are not seeing what they have seen before as I have edited sections out. I also edited the colour of the title to make it match our album art work designs and colour scheme.

This is our instagram and twitter post which is promoting and advertising our teaser 'trailer' for our new song, album, and the release date.

Group campaign feedback: 1

Millie and I received feedback from our production group based on our social media campaign so far, we were told that the genre is clear to identify through the posts which we have uploaded and through the layout of the social media platforms we have adhered to the genre conventions of a pop rock band. We were further told that our star image is portrayed correctly through our social media and the way which have presented our band definitely create a star image and make them the main focus as we are selling them as a group and not their music. The one thing which they did address which we need to develop more and improve is the theme which flows through our instagram campaign. They highlighted that all the posts so far follow different themes and different colour schemes, it is not all the same and makes it more difficult to focus on what kind of vibe the band bring.  An idea which as a group we all discussed which could help the flow of our theme and colour scheme was to follow and explore the social media campaign for the band Coldplay which present similar images and themes and from this we could be inspired by their layout and follow a similar idea. On the other hand for our twitter social media campaign our group stated that they really liked it and thought it was extremely aesthetically pleasing and portrays the band in a really positive way and looks very professional.

As a group we gave Wendy feedback from her digipak design which she has created. We told her that she has created an extremely strong digipak design which convey all the correct aspects to our band and selling/promoting them. The artwork which she has created adhere to our genre conventions, portray the star image, provide band details and information, and sell the band. The one criticism which we addressed was the four images of the band members on the inside left cover, we didn't like how the band members looked and the type of images they were as they very much follow pop genre and not as much rock. Wendy further agreed with this feedback and we as a group decided to complete another small photoshoot where we could get the correct images we want to finalise our digipak.

As a group we further gave feedback for our so far edited music video which Amanda has been working on. We were extremely pleased with how it looks so far and can see that it will look so strong when it is completed but there were a few aspects which as a group we were not sure on. We provided Amanda with a few ideas which could work well if included in the video, but we further addressed that Amanda tries these ideas and see how it looks and if it either looks better or looks worse then she will decide what to do as she is in control of the editing aspect for this campaign. A few ideas which we presented were to have a few of the single shots of the band members slightly longer, as there was one point in the video where it cut from the guitarist to the drummer to the singer in a very short amount of time and meant that we could not see what was going on as the clips kept rapidly changing. We also addressed another idea which was to potentially end the music video going back to set up one, where all the band members are in the basement as this idea would link the whole video and highlight the idea of the band 'making it' by seeing how far they have come.

Overall all of our products work really well together as a campaign and portray the same conceptual ideas and developing ideas, Millie and I's created social media campaigns, Wendy's digipak final designs, and the music video so far which Amanda has been editing.

Post production/Making of social media: 5

These are screenshots of me editing the images which we took on our photoshoot. Millie and I selected our favourite photographs out of the whole shoot and we selected around 30 out of the 300 photographs we took. I then placed these 30 images into Adobe Lightroom and completed post production on them. I edited the brightness, texture, clarity, shadows, highlights, and exposure on these photographs.

Post production/Making of social media: 4

Millie and I completed a photoshoot for our bands social media campaign. We arranged a time to meet in Cranleigh so we could take photographs in different locations and around the village. We were able to find really good locations which allowed us to adhere to our genre conventions, and the band were all dressed in the right clothing for the shoot. The locations which we found were a skate park, a private road, and the back of a supermarket where there were stairs and trollies which we could use as props and place the band members around to make it look good and work. Overall this was a very successful shoot and is going to further allow us to create a professional social media campaign for our band and allow us to adhere to the genre conventions of a pop rock band.

This is a contact sheet of all the photographs which we took on the shoot around Cranleigh:

Behind the scenes of the photoshoot:

Updated band logo

This is an updated version of our band logo design. This adheres much more to our genre than the previous logo and shows they are a pop and rock band. As the logo with the white background was much more pop than rock.

Post production/Making of social media: 3

These are the first two posts/tweets which I uploaded to Twitter. This is informing our audience that we are now on Twitter and will now be uploading regularly. We have also provided our audience with hints that we are releasing music soon.

We decided to change our band logo and instead of it being black writing on white background it is now the other way round with white writing on black background. This makes it stand out much more. We then had to delete the profile pictures on both instagram and twitter and re upload them with the new band logo design.

Band logo

This is our bands logo which Wendy created. This logo shows the type of genre our band is and it is easy to read and identify that our band is called 'Buzzkill'. We will be using this logo on our social media campaigns, digipak's, and merchandise, which we will be making online.
