I researched into how two bands 'Green Day' and 'Blink-182' used their social media as part of a campaign on the platforms: Instagram and Twitter:
This is a timeline of Blink-182's social media campaign for Twitter from the last few months and how they used this social media platform and what content they uploaded and in what order:
This is another timeline of Green day's social media campaign for Instagram, I looked at the content which they have uploaded in the last few months and how they have used this social media platform to sell the band and advertise their work:
Both these social media platforms were very different in terms of how they portray the bands and sell the bands. Green Day's instagram account is much more performance oriented which portrays what the band are like when performing and their characteristics and personalities, whereas Blink-182 twitter page juxtaposes this idea to an extreme. Blink-182's twitter page is very limited in terms of promoting and selling the band. They base their posts on either promoting new merchandise which has been released or retweeting fans tweets, they hardly have any posts which show the band performing or behind the scene shots of the band.
Both these bands are very different in terms of how they want to come across to their audience and how they want to portray themselves, but this does not affect the bands themselves as they both are extremely successful bands which have done very well within the music industry.
